Our China Practice provides expert economic advice on competition policy, economic and financial regulation, public policy and the assessment of damages in complex disputes. We are looking to hire young analysts to help us to provide advice to our clients on some of the most high-profile cases before competition authorities, regulators and courts across the globe.
About the Opportunity
Our Beijing office is currently recruiting 1-2 analysts for an immediate start. The position demands strong ability to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, knowledge of or interest in economics, and a broad range of research skills. analysts are involved in nearly all aspects of project work, interacting closely with other analysts and supervisors in collecting information, analyzing data, and preparing client presentations. The analysts are also expected to work with team members located in other Compass Lexecon offices in US and EU. Through their involvement, analysts could gain a comprehensive understanding of the industries and public policy issues relevant to the projects we work on. As skills and competencies develop, there will be greater opportunity for independent work.
Ideal candidates would hold (or nearly complete) a master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a quantitative field. We seek candidates who possess strong academic backgrounds. Demonstration of quantitative skills, writing ability in both Chinese and English, and qualitative research skills are required. Knowledge of Excel and statistical programming packages such as STATA or SAS are preferred. Candidates must be highly motivated, analytical, detail-oriented, able to work independently and in teams, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
