About the Role

The Assistant Finance Manager will be part of the corporate accounting team based in Dubai, UAE and report to the Regional Financial Controller - EMEA. This role will be responsible for the following activities of FTI entities spread across jurisdictions in the Middle East, Africa & India.
What You'll Do
Revenue Recognition
- Review sales contracts and other appropriate documents to ensure we have satisfactory evidence to recognize revenue.
- Analyze the various contracts and ensure revenue recognition is properly done as per accounting standard, ASC 606.
- Maintain revenue workbooks following the SOX requirements and FTI internal policies, and post relevant accounting journals.
- Maintain journal entry tracking spreadsheet and prepare balance sheet account reconciliations for related accounts.
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance productivity.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller and Segment & Regional Finance teams on special projects and duties.
- Assist in development of executive level decks on business performance analysis, forecasts, and budgets etc. including commentary.
- Using Power BI and TM1, build plug and play dashboards to understand business drivers, issues, cost leakages and opportunities. This will be primarily for Regional & Segment Finance teams but also for business leaders and operational department heads as required.
- Support the company-wide annual budgeting & quarterly forecasting process, including planning for resource and utilization, allocations and cost assumptions.
- This individual is expected to play a very active role in the month end closing process and work alongside the controller to ensure books are properly closed and all journals are posted on time by the accountants in the team.
- Work alongside the tax team on routine tax related matters such as tax filing, VAT returns etc but also in special tax planning projects.
- Assist in managing outsourced service providers, including mainly external accountants and tax advisors;
- Leading the PMO of the external and internal audits of the entities.
- Managing the regulatory reporting's of the group entities which operate in regulated jurisdictions - such as Dubai Financial Service Authority (DFSA), and ensuring KPIs such as capital adequacy, minimum liquidity requirements are closely monitored.
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience in a similar position and working for a multi-national company is a must.
- Qualified US CPA is preferred but also open to other accounting qualifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications: Outlook, Excel, Word and Power-Point is a must.
- Knowledge of ERP such as Elite, Unit4 and MIS tools such as TM1, datamart will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of PowerBI is also considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical capabilities to analyze data, determine trends, and present the findings.
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Ability to direct and influence teams without direct reporting relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to connect the dots and understand and analyze business which will help in enabling the seniors in making quick decisions.
- Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Powerpoint & Excel
- Strong ability to leverage systems to eliminate need for manual data collection efforts.
- Highly organized, meticulous and demonstrates high levels of responsibility.
- The ability to work effectively in a high growth environment and a rapidly changing organization.
- Proactive and hands-on problem solver.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Enthusiastic and have the strong urge to learn something new all the time.
- Flexible to accommodate any urgent out of hours requests
- Proactive, deadline oriented and able to manage stress.
- Smart appearance, well-presented and professional at all times
- Possesses mature demeanor and positive attitude, as well as discretion and sensitivity when dealing with the SMD group and having multi-cultural awareness.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Be able to work remotely and with less supervision by delivering on the committed deadlines is essential.
