Ausley Associates is pleased to recruit for the newest member of our premier team; IT Specialist II. This position works within an internally-facing IT department supporting all users and affiliates of the organization. The position installs, modifies and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical advice and support to system users.

  1. Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on users' premises
  2. Performs direct user support and issue resolution using a trouble ticket system
  3. Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications
  4. Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users' requirements
  5. Provides telephone, in-person and remote/online support to end-users
  6. Coordinates activities with other department level personnel
  7. Provides updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication
  8. Refers major hardware problems to service personnel or vendors as necessary
  9. Connects users to networks and provides initial training in facilities and applications
  10. Administers cloud-based maintenance, exchange, and other application solutions
  11. Assists in research and procurement of computer accessories and supplies
  12. Performs other duties as assigned

Competencies
  1. Operating Systems: Must be able to work within and configure various operating systems to include popular desktop, server, and mobile platforms:
    • Microsoft: Windows7+, Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2, and 2016, Windows Mobile
    • Virtualization: VMWare ESXI / vCenter v5+, familiarity with Microsoft VDI solutions
    • Apple: OSX+, iOS 7+
    • Android: 5+
  2. Software Applications
    • Adobe: Acrobat DC, CS Suite preferred
    • Microsoft: Office suite, 2010, 2013, and 2016
    • Nitro PDF Pro 9+
  3. Cloud Services
    • Microsoft Office 365 Enterprise Suite (Exchange, SharePoint, Skype for Business)
    • Endpoint security solutions: Sophos/BitDefender/Kaspersky/others
    • IaaS Services: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or vCloud Air
  4. Networking: Preferred experience with administration and maintenance of:
    • Cisco Managed Switches/Routers/WAPs
    • Ubiquiti Networks UniFi access points and controller software
    • ISP Modems and other WAN level equipment
    • General networking knowledge to include components, cable types and restrictions
  5. Interpersonal Relationships, work-ethic, and culture
    • Attentive and dynamic ability to interact with users scaling generational, technical competency, and retention levels.
    • Ability to proactively identify, resolve, and mitigate challenges and support requests
    • Experience and ability to work within an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities and requirements
    • Independent, strong work ethic, able to work deliberately and efficiently to accomplish daily tasking
    • Ability to maintain business alignment in support of mission objectives of a department
    • Able to critically analyze problems and requests while applying technical principals, operational requirements, and industry best-practices to facilitate solutions
  1. Desk & Remote User Support: candidate must be able to provide general hardware and software support in a professional environment in-person, over the phone, or via a remote support tool
    • Able to service server, laptop, and desktop hardware up to and including minor repairs such as replacements of hard drives and displays
    • Must be able to assist a team with large hardware configuration changes and server component replacement
    • Must be able to diagnose and repair operating system issues

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
Lifting and moving computer equipment and other electronics or items up to 55 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel
Rare travel (less than five times a year) may be required for this position to support training, conference attendance, or operational needs at remote sites.

Qualifications - Education and Relevant Years of Experience

Required Education and Experience
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. 2-5 years of relevant experience in related positions and environments

Preferred Education and Experience
  1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in technical field
  2. Experience in administration of Microsoft Office 365
  3. Experience with providing unassisted, direct support to users
  4. Experience configuring and deploying systems to users
  5. Experience managing incoming ticket volumes alongside project tasking

US Citizen, no clearance is required for this position, but it is preferred.
